Method of Preparation

  1. Heat the Mawa

    • Crumble fresh mawa and cook on a low flame in a heavy-bottom pan.

    • Stir continuously to avoid browning.

  2. Add Coconut

    • Add desiccated coconut and mix well.

    • Cook for 2–3 minutes till the mixture turns aromatic.

  3. Sweetening

    • Add powdered sugar and stir gently.

    • Cook till the mixture leaves the sides of the pan.

  4. Flavoring

    • Add cardamom powder and mix thoroughly.

  5. Setting the Barfi

    • Grease a flat tray lightly with ghee.

    • Transfer the mixture, spread evenly, and level with a spatula.

  6. Garnishing

    • Sprinkle chopped almonds and pistachios.

    • Press gently and allow to set for 20–25 minutes.

  7. Cutting & Serving

    • Cut into equal barfi pieces and serve.
